About Georgina Owino

Georgina Owino is a contemplative practitioner, healing art facilitator, prayer minister and children’s author. Through her wellness practice, Live Unchained, she holds space for people to slow down, listen inward, and meet what’s true without rushing past it.

Her work is not therapy, and it doesn’t pretend to be. It’s contemplative practice — an invitation to return to what is already sacred in your life, wherever you happen to be starting from.

The work she does

Georgina offers guided 1:1 sessions, small group gatherings, standalone practices, and self-paced online courses — all built around five core practices:

  • Stillness — deep, held space for sacred listening.
  • Creative Expression — reaching the heart through art and other creative forms.
  • Movement — creating space for the body to express what words cannot.
  • Time in Nature — attentive, restorative rhythms outdoors.
  • Heart Work — meeting the stories and agreements we’ve made, and releasing what no longer serves us.

Depending on what a person needs, a session might rest in just one of these or weave several together. There is no fixed programme and no prescribed sequence.

She organises the work around three doors: Healing, for what you’re carrying from the past; Being, for presence in the current moment; and Searching, for discerning what comes next. Most people move between all three at different times — sometimes within the same season.

Training and credentials

Georgina is certified through the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation’s Transforming Community programme, where she trained in leading contemplative small groups and retreats.

She is also trained as an Art Sozo prayer minister, and is currently completing her certification in the Art4Healing® method — a guided, non-clinical approach to emotional expression through art.

Her approach combines this formal training with years of lived experience walking alongside others. She is also a qualified lawyer.

The children’s books

Published through Mighty Kids Publishing House, Georgina writes stories that awaken courage, spark imagination, and remind children that, with God, they can do far more than they ever imagined.

Her books sit at the intersection of social-emotional learning and faith — particularly the quiet ways God speaks to our hearts, especially in the midst of big feelings like worry, fear, self-esteem, loss and change. She is available for school and community author visits.

On faith, and on whether you need to share it

This work is spiritual at its core. Georgina believes there’s something Sacred within and around every person — although sometimes we travel so far from this truth that we simply forget it’s there. Much of what she offers is a way back.

Her personal path is rooted in the Christian faith tradition, and that shapes how she moves through this work with others. But the work itself isn’t offered as instruction in a particular belief system. It’s an invitation to return to what’s already sacred in your life, wherever you’re starting from.

People arrive from every faith background and from none. You are welcome exactly as you are.

Who this work is for

Anyone ready to be present with themselves — whatever that presence looks like right now.

Some people come for healing, carrying something from the past they’re still holding. Some come simply to be, without an agenda or a problem to solve, just needing space to exist without performing. Others come searching, discerning a question about what’s next.

No prior experience with meditation, art, or contemplative practice is required. If your mind wanders, that’s part of the practice rather than a failure of it. And nothing here depends on being “good at art” — the value is in the making, not the finished piece.

What this is not

Art therapy is a licensed clinical profession, practised by a licensed art therapist as a form of psychotherapy. What Georgina offers is a contemplative practice: not a clinical treatment, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for mental health care.

Many people find it a meaningful complement to therapy they’re already doing, and that works well. If you’re in crisis, or you need diagnosis or treatment for a mental health condition, this isn’t the right fit — and Georgina will tell you so directly.

Where to begin

With a conversation, not a commitment.

If you’d rather start on your own, three guided meditations are published free on this site — each with its full written script, so you can read every word before you press play. No email address required.

When you’re ready, get in touch. You don’t need to know which door or practice you need. Working that out together is exactly what the first conversation is for.
